Deer Park Campground was so great, and we needed a break from driving, so we decided to spend a lazy day in Buffalo, WY lazing by the pool, doing laundry, and walking around town. Saw the Occidental Hotel, and Main Street. Got our hair cut at Russ’s Barbershop ($11). He passed his barbering exam in 1969 and has a collection on small-scale classic cars on shelves (he owns a ’61 Olds 98 he drives regularl)y. He pointed me to an autoshop that sells octane boost, since the highest you can find out here is 91. He (and the folks waiting for a cut) recommended Winchester’s for dinner. It’s so close to our campground, they’ve mowed a 1/4 mile path leading thru a meadow to it. Amazing prime rib, next to a “custom slaughtering” outfit.
To bed early tonight so we can beat the heat tomorrow and get to our Butte, Montana (or Butt, as my dad says) KOA.
